Hello again from the Compound Lab!
Even with months of posts about compounding, there is a type of compound that I've still not mentioned: compounded ear drops.
In a sense, compounded ear drops are sort of like a spare tire--you may not need them often, but when you do, you'll be glad that they exist. As you might guess, ear drops are used almost exclusively to treat inflammation and infections in the ear canal. With cold and flu season upon us, the use of ear drops are on the rise, and with market shortages and antibiotic resistance, your options may be more limited than in the past. Fortunately, compounding can help cover the gap! Our prices are reasonable and turnaround times are usually less than a business day--much better than the weeks it may take a product to come off backorder.
Ear drops are usually used alone, but for people with concurrent throat or nasal infections/inflammation, we have options for those too. Stay tuned in the coming weeks!
As always, we're available in the lab Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. Or you can email me anytime at brandon.ladage@belewdrugs.com. We’d love to hear from you!
Until next time,
Brandon
